How to have the “PERFECT” Wedding Day from Canton OH to Pittsburgh PA
Everything Will Not Be Perfect, But No One Will Know! Keys to Keeping Stress Low on Your Wedding Day!
Your wedding day is one of the most anticipated and cherished events of your life, but it can also be one of the most stressful. From managing last-minute details to dealing with unexpected hiccups, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. The good news? With the right mindset and preparation, you can enjoy the day fully, imperfections and all. We at Century Farms are committed to keeping things as low stress as possible, because we have seen the big day from all sides. From Kerri losing her ring the day before the wedding, to the caterer leaving before the end of dinner. We have seen it all! Here are some keys to keeping stress low and ensuring your big day is as joyful and memorable as you’ve envisioned from a small town venue owner that has seen a thing or two.
Can you believe that just happened?!
The day before our wedding I lost my wedding band in the hustle and bustle of getting everything to the venue! Mike found it. It had fallen out of the ring box in my car and rolled under the front passenger seat. 😳 I felt pretty that day.
Accept That Perfection Is a Myth
No matter how meticulously you plan, some things will stray from the timeline. A vendor might show up late, the weather might not cooperate, or a tiny detail might get overlooked. The key is to embrace imperfection. Remember: your guests won’t know the original plan, so what feels like a big deal to you will likely go unnoticed by them. Focus on the love and celebration, not the small snags.
Hire a Wedding Coordinator or Delegate Tasks
A professional wedding planner or day-of coordinator can be a game-changer. They handle logistics, troubleshoot issues, and ensure everything runs smoothly. If hiring a coordinator isn’t in your budget, delegate tasks to trusted friends or family members. Assign someone (who is not in the wedding party) to manage vendors, oversee the timeline, and handle emergencies. Delegating allows you to stay present and enjoy your day. Always Whimsical has been one of the best in the business in Northeast Ohio, and we can always trust that Stefanie and her team will do a great job!
Create a Detailed Timeline
A well-thought-out timeline helps everyone—vendors, bridal party, and family members—stay on the same page. Include buffer time between events to account for unexpected delays. Share the timeline with key people in advance, so you’re not fielding questions on the big day. With a solid plan in place, you’ll feel more in control and less stressed. Our CF digital planner was born from this idea, to make sure everything is flowing smoothly during your big day! After a few years we finally managed to get our Dubsado up to par and your own personal portal to help curate your special day.

Surround Yourself with a Supportive Team
On your wedding day, the people around you set the tone. Choose a bridal party and inner circle who will uplift you, keep you calm, and help you laugh through any mishaps. Avoid inviting anyone who might bring unnecessary drama or stress. Your tribe’s energy will help you stay grounded and focused on the joy of the day.
Practice Self-Care Leading Up to the Wedding
In the weeks and days leading up to your wedding, prioritize self-care. Get enough sleep, stay hydrated, and eat well-balanced meals. Incorporate stress-relief activities into your routine, like yoga, meditation, or light exercise. Taking care of your physical and mental well-being will leave you feeling refreshed and ready to tackle the day. Self Care is important regardless of the reason, but especially in times that may be stressful. Take a few extra moments to breathe, those moments will go a long way the day of!
Prepare an Emergency Kit
An emergency kit can be a lifesaver for unexpected situations. Include items like safety pins, sewing kits, pain relievers, stain removers, tissues, breath mints, and extra makeup. Designate someone to keep the kit handy, so you’re prepared for any small hiccup without added stress.
Communicate Clearly with Vendors
Clear communication with your vendors is crucial. Confirm details and expectations in the weeks leading up to the wedding. On the day of, let your coordinator or designated point person handle vendor questions and issues. Trusting your vendors to do their jobs will free you to enjoy the day.
Plan for Quiet Moments
Wedding days can be a whirlwind of activity. Schedule a few quiet moments to catch your breath and soak in the significance of the day. Whether it’s a private first look with your partner, a brief pause before the ceremony, or a moment alone after the vows, these intentional breaks can help you stay centered and present.
Focus on What Matters Most
It’s easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of decor, timelines, and other details. But the heart of the day is your commitment to your partner and the love you share with your friends and family. Whenever stress creeps in, remind yourself of the bigger picture. Years from now, you’ll remember the joy and love far more than any minor imperfection.
Limit Social Media Use
While it’s tempting to scroll through hashtags or post updates in real-time, excessive social media use can distract from the moment. Consider assigning a friend to capture and share highlights for you or waiting until after the wedding to engage online. This way, you can stay fully present and experience your day without distractions. Now you can even hire someone to capture those social media moments for you, commonly called a content creator. This option also allows your guests to be fully present on your wedding day as well.
Have a Backup Plan for Key Elements
If you’re planning an outdoor wedding, have a contingency plan for weather changes. At Century Farms we have a gorgeous indoor ceremony space completely separate from the reception area. If you’re relying on specific vendors, have a backup in mind in case of emergencies. Having alternatives in place can give you peace of mind and reduce stress when the unexpected happens.
Practice Gratitude
Start the day with a gratitude practice. Take a few moments to reflect on the people, love, and support that have brought you to this day. Gratitude helps shift your focus from stress to joy and sets a positive tone for the day.
Stay Hydrated and Eat!
Amid the excitement, it’s easy to forget basic needs like drinking water and eating. Dehydration and hunger can quickly lead to irritability and fatigue. Keep water and snacks on hand, and make time to enjoy your meal during the reception.
Let Go and Trust the Process
On the day of your wedding, let go of control and trust the people you’ve chosen to support you. You’ve done the work and planned as much as you can. Now it’s time to relax, be present, and enjoy the fruits of your labor.
End the Day with Intention
As the festivities wind down, take a moment to reflect with your partner. Share your favorite moments, laugh about any mishaps, and soak in the love that surrounded you. Ending the day on a positive note will leave you with cherished memories to carry forward.
Have fun! Wig out and create those epic memories. The hardest part is over before you even walk into your Bridal Suite. You put the time in to plan this day, now go enjoy it!
Your wedding day is a celebration of love, not a performance. By embracing imperfection, leaning on your support system, and staying present, you can create a joyful and stress-free experience. Remember: the most important part of the day is marrying the person you love. Everything else is just icing on the (wedding) cake.
